What we know is that the best Wilder has looked in his career was when Breland was there . Could another normal trainer have helped him? Maybe, but he never got with one for a significant amount of time.
He sure likes to keep Jay Deas around though, for some reason....Marchegiano likes this.

To beat Ward’s ass Lil G would have had to have actually gotten in the ring with him. But “everyone from 154 to 168” suddenly became “catchweight” when Ward raised his hand,...Last edited by ShoulderRoll; Today, 07:38 AM.

Im just saying that if they waited to get world titles first before rematching then they would never rematch....morph_resurrected likes this.

There used to be families with kids at those dogfights. They would really get into the breeding of the dogs and the bloodlines and prized “being game” above all else.
Which is kind of like boxing in that the biggest sin a fighter can commit is to quit....

People continue to say Malik Scott took a dive in their fight. I don’t know.
But he and Wilder have parted ways. Deontay still keeps Jay Deas around for some reason....Last edited by ShoulderRoll; Yesterday, 12:19 PM.

I grew up around a culture like that too, where fighting chickens and dogs was normal. Seen my share of both.
A game pitbull wagging his tail in happiness while in the middle of tearing into another dog while getting chunks bitten out of him in return is an amazing and heartbreaking thing...CPNUTKnockoutFreshMart likes this.

Everyone from 154 to 168…and then when Andre Ward raised his hand suddenly they need a catchweight.
That’s when Ward started calling him Lil G....

Southern black people like rooster fights (and also pitbull fights.)
Is that who you mean?...

He’ll get one more big payday with Joshua it looks like. Eddie Hearn is going to milk that for all it’s worth....MulaKO likes this.

Breland seems like a good guy. If Wilder would swallow his pride and try to mend fences I bet he would forgive and forget.
Might be too late, though, as age and wear and tear are setting in for the Bronze Bomber....

Using 18’ x 18’ ring is going to be awesome. Do it Turki.
Chris Byrd grew up sparring in his basement in a 12’ x 12’ ring which was why he was so slick defensively....

Deontay Wilder needs to bring back Mark Breland
He hasn’t looked good since the split, he just continuously looks worse and worse every time out.

That’s a good list on the first page. As discussed, Andy Ruiz has Anthony Joshua’s scalp and could have had Joseph Parker’s too. There wasn’t much separating them.
I might rank him a little higher. Maybe over John Ruiz who I absolutely couldn’t stand.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 06-28-2025, 06:23 PM.
