Former unified middleweight and light heavyweight champion Bernard 'The Alien' Hopkins is confident of a deal being made for a 2017 collision between WBO junior middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (48-1-1, 34KOs) and WBC/IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs).

The timing of when it will happen is more important than the fight happening in general. There should be no reason why this fight can't take place on the wknd of Cino de Mayo 2017!

Both are prime at the moment and regardless of the fact that Canelo starves/dehydrates himself to make a lower weight, he's a full fledged MW who enters the ring at 170+ on fight night.

... "I will tell the world that it won't take as long as Mayweather and Pacquiao," Hopkins told BoxingScene.com.

... sure... it would take 3 years only -- which is 2018 only...

"..televised exhibition". Bernard couldn't be fooled! He knows GGG could have finished Brook in the first. Unfortunately, this is also why GGG-Canelo isn't happening anytime soon...
