  • Team Chris John: "Juarez Lost His Chance To Fight"

Despite the recent information given by trainer Ronnie Shields to BoxingScene reporter Michael Doss, a potential bout between WBA featherweight champion Chris John and challenger Rocky Juarez is not going to happen on the Joel Casamayor-Juan Manuel Marquez pay-per-view on September 13 in Las Vegas. i understand their decision, but if i was John's manager, it would had been worth waiting to see what Juarez wanted to do because the exposure for John on that HBO PPV card would ovbiously be greater and more beneficial than having John fight a no body in some country where the fight wont get US attention. That just seems kind of odd.

The exposure for Chris John in the US would have been a lot to him and his team! Sad to say they could have added another active and named fighter to his resume! Did they wait for a week to hear Juarez' response to their offer?

thats what im saying, i dont like to speculate, but it kind of feels like they didnt want to put John in with someone like Juarez, who im sure had a better shot at beating John then John's next opponent. so they looked for any excuse to pull out.

A lot of people here were right when they said Rocky have no heart.

yeah, it's as if Juarez is just another nonsense fighter comparable to the fighter whom Chris John is going to face on September in Indonesia, in place of Juarez.

If they really want to fight in the US soil to get more exposure with the idea that they can defeat Juarez, they could have just waited for Juarez to decide or try another named fighter in the US, and not go back to Indonesia.

How big is this John guy in Indonesia??? If he's well-followed and is making good money (and his team also), then it's seems pretty fishy that they wouldn't be willing to wait another week or so for Juarez to make up his mind. The fight wouldn't have been until September!

For John to have come to America, beat a known fighter like Juarez, and get some good exposure could've really helped his career. This sounds like a team totally protecting their fighter...who it doesn't seem they have much faith in to come to the States and win this fight.

I'm very skeptical of Chris John's willingness to fight a live opponent in the US.

Chris John is a protected joke.
