According to a recent interview with Top Rank president Bob Arum, if WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (32-0, 29KOs) wins his rematch with Jermain Taylor (27-1-1, 17KOs), the next target would be a pay-per-view showdown with Bernard Hopkins (48-4-1, 32KOs) in June. [details]

woooooooooow!!!
I mean, it probably wouldnt be very fan friendly (although it could be kinda entertaining in a sloppy way) but it would be a MAJOR step toward making Pavlik a SUPERSTAR.
Just a win over Hopkins would do it, but a Knockout, if he could somehow pull that off, would be catastrophic. that could send shockwaves throughout the mainstream sports.
I think this is a very even fight due to Hopkins's age. he fades late, Pavlik does not.
BUT, Hopkins is tricky and hard to hit, and Pavlik struggled to hit Taylor who has a pretty weak defense (although i think he showed some good defense against pavlik.) So i think Hopkins could completely out maunuever and outsmart Pavlik.
I am, however, goin with Pavlik by UD. Pavlik should fight this fight like he did against Miranda, trying to get HOpkins going backwards and fighting off the ropes where he is at a disadvantage, and cant use many of his tricks and traps

I thought Calzaghe had a date with Hopkins after he beats Kessler... what happens if both Kessler and Taylor go down?
