Luis Sandoval catches up with WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin to discuss his upcoming defense against Fernando Guerrero

LOS ANGELES - With the Super Welterweight World Championship Unification fight between Canelo Alvarez and Austin Trout coming up this weekend on Saturday, April 20 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, followed by the Unified Super Lightweight World Championship between Danny Garcia and Zab Judah at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, April 27 and the culmination of the back-to-back-to-back championship fight weekends, "MAY DAY: Floyd Mayweather vs. Robert Guerrero" on Saturday, May 4 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, predictions are swirling around on the internet, in newspapers and on television from boxing scribes and fans doing their best to make their calls on what will happen in the upcoming fights.

Luis Sandoval catches up with Eric Brown, who trains WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin and WBA welterweight champ Paulie Malignaggi, to discuss their upcoming respective fights with Fernando Guerrero and Adrien Broner. Brown also talks about his rising status in the training world.

BoxingScene.com's audio show, Boxing Scene Radio , returns with another packed show. The show is hosted by BoxingScene correspondants Ernest Gabion, Luis Sandoval and Ryan Burton.

WBO middleweight beltholder Peter Quillin (28-0, 20KOs) is training for war. He makes the first defense of his title against Fernando Guerrero (25-1, 19KOs) on Showtime from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The match takes place on April 27th as the televised co-feature to Danny Garcia's defense of the WBC/WBA 140-pound titles against Zab Judah. Photos by Emilio Sanchez/Young and Reckless/Five Four.

Unbeaten middleweight world title holder Peter Quillin expects a strong challenge from challenger Fernando Guerrero, but is confident he will successfully defend his title on April 27th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The bout, along with the Danny Garcia-Zab Judah world title bout will be televised on Showtime and is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. “When Guerrero signed the contract to fight me, it’s like he signed a contract to try and beat me,” the outspoken Quillin told Boxingscene.com before a training session at the Wild Card gym West in Santa Monica on Monday afternoon.

It’s a rare occasion when two fighters managed by the same fighter step foot in the ring against one another. Most notably, Al Haymon makes it a point to never match his fighters against one another. A rare exception comes on April 27, when unbeaten middleweight titlist Peter Quillin takes on Fernando Guerrero at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Given the pre-fight tension between the two, you wonder if the music and boxing mogul will reconsider his stance on the subject. The fight is less than four weeks away, but the fighters have already let the verbal punches fly. A conference call to hype up the Showtime-televised co-feature (Danny Garcia faces Zab Judah in the main event) began civil enough, but didn’t take long to reach a boiling point.

LOS ANGELES - World Boxing Organization (WBO) middleweight champion Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin (28-0, 20 KOs) puts his title belt and unbeaten record on the line April 27 in his much-anticipated first world title defense against challenger Fernando Guerrero (25-1, 19 KOs) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Quillin was originally schedule to defend against Guerrero on February 9, however, the entire show was postponed due to an injury suffered by headliner Danny Garcia. Fighting once again on Showtime Championship Boxing, Quillin vs. Guerrero could steal the thunder from Garcia and his challenger, Zab Judah, as Quillin did last October in the same venue against previously undefeated WBO title-holder Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam, who was floored six times and eventually lost a 12-round decision (115-107, 115-107, 115-107), as well as his WBO crown.

While the finishing touches are still being worked out, Golden Boy Promotions' February 9th event is being postponed to April 27th. The card will still take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The card took a major hit when the headliner, WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (25-0, 16KOs), was forced to withdraw on Sunday with a rib injury. Garcia was scheduled to face two-division former champion Zab Judah (42-7, 29 KOs) in the Showtime televised main event of the evening. The boxer was injured during a sparring session with former champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley.

According to the camp of Mexico's Marco Antonio Rubio (56-6-1, 49KOs), he will receive the WBO's number one ranking, at middleweight, when the organization's new ratings are released. The move to place Rubio at number one has caused a minor stir because the boxer has staged his last two fights above the middleweight limit.
