Luis Sandoval catches up with Fernando Guerrero to discuss his loss to WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin and more.

Luis Sandoval catches the "Mixing It Up With The Champs" event - presented by Sam, Brandon and Marcus Watson. Among those who attended - Danny Garcia, Fernando Guerrero, Peter Quillin, Ishe Smith, Keith Thurman, Austin Trout and more.

They both landed half their power shots, but WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin landed more and hit too hard for the naturally 154-lb Fernando Guerrero. 187 of the 220 landed punches in the fight were power punches (non-jabs).

Bill Emes catches the post-fight press conference to Danny Garcia's twelve round decision victory over Zab Judah. Hear from Garcia, Judah, Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya, WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin and more.

Success could cause athletes to go in two directions in life. One path is to continue to work hard at their craft, sacrifice more, and set higher goals than expected. The other path is to not work as hard, be content with what has been accomplished, and to give in to temptations not related to their craft. Of the two, Peter Quillin chooses the former hands down. Actually, if you ask him, he chooses “animal status,” a self-described psyche that he attributes to him maintaining his unbeaten status and becoming a world title holder. Quillin will make the first defense of his world title belt this Saturday against Fernando Guerrero at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The bout will precede the Danny Garcia-Zab Judah junior welterweight unification bout. Both bouts will be televised on Showtime beginning at 9PM ET/ 6PM PT.

Peter Quillin returns to the venue that crowned him a titlist, as the unbeaten middleweight takes on Fernando Guerrero in their 12-round bout Saturday evening at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The bout serves as the co-feature attraction of a Showtime-televised tripleheader. Headlining the show is a 140 lb. title fight between Danny Garcia and Zab Judah; also airing via split site tape delay is a modified welterweight bout between Amir Khan and Julio Diaz. The evening marks Quillin’s first fight since winning an alphabet belt in this very venue, scoring six knockdowns in a still surprisingly competitive 12-roiund win over Hassan N’Jam N’Dikam last October. His first defense of the title came dangerously close to ending on the scales, as Quillin (28-0, 20KO) was 1.5 lb. over the middleweight limit during Friday’s weigh-in. Quillin insisted his body still had more water to shed, proving correct just over an hour later when he returned to the scales to make 160 on the dot, and thus still entering the ring as champion.

“The road to get here was never easy, so why would it be easy now?” Peter Quillin replied when asked about defending his WBO middleweight crown for the first time this Saturday against Fernando Guerrero this Saturday at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center (Showtime, 9 p.m. ET/PT). BoxingScene.com sat down with the introspective Quillin (28-0, 22 KOs) about a variety of topics dealing with his newfound fame and how he perceives this weekend’s title defense against Guerrero (25-1, 19 KOs).

Months worth of feuding in person, online and any other way imaginable are now just a day away from being resolved in the ring. Danny 'Swift' Garcia and Zab 'Super' Judah are moments away from stepping on the scales for Friday's official weigh-in for their 140 lb. title fight Saturday evening at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Garcia (25-0, 16KO) helped christened the building with a 4th round knockout over Erik Morales in their rematch last October. Judah (42-7, 29KO) hasn't fought since a career-resurrecting knockout win over then-unbeaten Vernon Paris last March. The bout marked his first ever appearance in his home borough of Brookyn. The televised co-feature pits unbeaten middleweight titlist Peter Quillin against Fernando Guerrero - assuming both can get within the middleweight limit. Quillin (28-0, 20KO) weighed in over the middleweight limit, coming in at 161 1/2 lb. He will have two hours to shed 1 1/2 lb., otherwise will risk losing his title on the scales. Guerrero has less of an uphill battle, though was also heavy. The Maryland-based Dominican came in at 160.4 lb. Both fighters will weigh-in again at 2:10PM ET.
