For most of his career, Puertro Rican Olympian Felix Verdejo (21-0, 14KOs) has been fighting at the lightweight limit of 135-pounds.

When he started his professional run in 2012, Verdejo was fighting at super featherweight.

After looking a little lackluster in his recent runs of fights, Verdejo is looking to drop back to 130-pounds.

Verdejo is scheduled to return to the ring in an HBO televised fight on June 11th against Juan Jose Martinez (25-2) in a WBO Latino lightweight title at The Theather in New York's Madison Square Garden.

"I want to become champion at 130 pounds if I can make the the weight well. The important thing is to make the weight healthy and strong," Verdejo said to Carlos Gonzalez.

"I will campaign at 130 pounds. If I get the opportunity [for a world title shot I] will come down. I do not know if it will be this year or next year (2017)."

There are a lot of option for him to fight at super featherweight, like WBC champion Francisco Vargas, WBO champion Roman Martinez, Orlando Salido, Vasyl Lomachenko, and Nicholas Walters.

Vargas and Salido will face each other on June 4th, while Martinez and Lomachenko collide on the same card as Verdejo's next fight. Lomachenko defeated Verdejo in the 2012 Olympics.
