Junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara (15-1, 10KOs) has been inactive since losing a controversial twelve round decision to Paul Williams in July 2010. Lara has tried to secure fights with several of the big names at junior middleweight and even middleweight, but none of the top names are willing to fight him. Lara is waiting for his promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, to give him a return date.

BoxingScene.com: Erislandy, how have you been?

"I've been good relaxing with my family, waiting on what's next. I'm hoping that one of these guys like Williams, Kirkland, Pirog, Molina, Drizinruk, Trout, Alavez or any other 154-pounder in the world will fight me. I know by beating one of those guys mentioned I will get a shot at Sergio Martinez. That's who I really want to fight. I love that fight!"

BoxingScene.com: Some of the fans are starting to call you the "most feared fighter in boxing." For a while that moniker belonged to Margarito, then Paul Williams, but now the title belongs to you. Your thoughts?

Actions speak louder than words. I beat a  pound-for-pound fighter 6 months ago and gave him the beating of a lifetime and I've not fought since. Look, I want to fight. Sign the contract and let's get in the ring and let's do it. Anyone!

BoxingScene.com: Paul Williams recently said he was fighting in January. Are you surprised he's not chasing a rematch against you?

Its funny, but if Paul Williams wants to go on with his career knowing I beat the brakes off of him and he's scared to fight. He's got to look in the mirror. He's always talking about he's a real fighter. If he was a real fighter, then I beat whatever fighter he had in him. He should retire. I would respect him more.

BoxingScene.com: You really want to fight Sergio Martinez?

He's the best middleweight in the world. I'm the best junior middleweight in the world. He's a great fighter with a tricky style and great ability but I feel that with my amateur backround and my pro transition I'm the only man capable of beating Martinez. He can have 50 fights but I have over 400 in my life and I'm ready now. But I'm willing to beat anyone to get that opportunity. Put whoever in front of me I'll beat him. Get the same three blind mice if you want because I'm knocking guys out from here on!

Boxingscene.com: You make a good point to deserve that fight. I thought you beat Williams 9-3. Closing Thoughts?

I want to thank all the fans and friends that have supported me after the travesty on July 9 and I promise that I will not let you down. I am just waiting for one of these clowns to fight me. Me and my manager (Luis Decubas Jr) are ready to fly to Houston to put work in with Ronnie (Shields). I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and wish everyone Happy Holidays.
