Junior featherweight Elijah Pierce has been known for his antics of giving his opponents gifts at pre-fight weigh-ins – but now he has given fans something more substantive to remember him by.

Pierce picked up a fourth-round knockout over Arthur Villanueva after picking himself up off the deck early in the fight Friday at Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta.

After an exciting first round, in which both fighters landed thunderous body shots, Pierce (20-2, 17 KOs) was hit in the second round with a straight left hand that made him lose control of his legs. After trying to get to the other side of the ring, Pierce was sent to the canvas by two right hands from Villanueva (35-5-1, 20 KOs) with more than two minutes left in the round.

But Pierce got back to his feet, and by the end of the round he was pushing forward again. He rallied and fought with an awkward mixture of dance and relentless power-punching over the next few minutes. With seconds left in the fourth round, Villanueva fell into the ropes and referee Malik Waleed stopped the fight at 2:57.

Pierce had called out Naoya Inoue earlier this week.

In the co-main event, lightweight Haven Brady Jr. (12-0, 5 KOs) picked up a technical knockout of Waldemar Carril Areizaga in the sixth round.

Junior middleweight Oshae Jones (6-0, 2 KOs), a 2020 U.S. bronze medal Olympian, picked up a fifth-round technical knockout over Sonya Dreiling (6-5, 2 KOs).

Junior welterweight Giovanni Marquez (9-0, 5 KOs) won a six-round unanimous decision over Jayson Velez (30-14-1, 21 KOs).

Heavyweight DaCarree Scott (9-1, 8 KOs) got a fourth-round technical knockout of Detrailous Webster (6-3, 2 KOs).

Super middleweight Donte Layne (2-0, 2 KOs) knocked out DeShun Mitchell (2-1, 2 KOs) in the first round of their scheduled four-round fight.
