World bantamweight champion of the World Boxing Association, Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (35-2-1, 12KOs), has intensified his preparations in the gym as he gets himself in top form for a planned mandatory defense against tough Dominican Juan Carlos Payano (15-0, 8KOs).

No date, venue or location has been set for the fight, but Henry Rivalta of Iron Mike Productions, who won the purse bid, said the contest will take place in August.

Chemito already started sparring last week and continues to work on his speed and endurance.

"We're fine. 'Chemito' is working hard and he' doing several rounds of sparring, mainly against Venezuelans fighters who are training in Panama," coach Celso Chavez before traveling to Dominican Republic for the WBA's Knockout To Drugs Event.
