The internet was buzzing when Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach posted a photo on the social networks which displayed an unexpected visitor to the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood - WBA junior welterweight champion Adrien Broner (31-2, 23 KOs).

A move to Roach would be unlikely. Broner is an Al Haymon managed fighter and for whatever reason Haymon tends to keep his fighters away from Roach. Lucian Bute, after signing with Haymon, left Roach to work hand in hand with the Grant brothers in Canada.

Broner has put his career back on track with a dominating stoppage of once-beaten Khabib Allakhverdiev to become a four division world champion.

Current trainer Mike Stafford, who Broner views as a father figure, told veteran scribe Michael Woods that Roach's photo was nothing more than both men playing around for the social networks.

"He’s just playing around in that picture,” Stafford said. “Don’t believe the hype, AB is staying home.”
