Junior welterweight contender Breidis Prescott (25-4, 20KOs) has stepped forward and requested a rematch with Mike Alvarado (32-0, 23KOs). They fought on the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez undercard last November in Las Vegas. Prescott ahead on all three scorecards, was stopped by a bruised and bloody Alvarado in the tenth and final round. Prescott was up 87-84, 87-84 and 86-85 going into the tenth.

Prescott returned last Friday and stopped Joel Cassiani in Colombia in three rounds. Alvarado is rumored for an HBO televised co-feature position on an April 14th date at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The main event is a possible lightweight clash between Yuriorkis Gamboa and Brandon Rios.

" I feel great, I've rested my body well after the tough fight with Alvarado. I spent some much needed time with my family and now I'm ready for World War 2. I just fought in Colombia on Friday for the people and charities here in my country. I look forward to Mike Alvarado accepting my request for a rematch. I know he won't back down cause he's a man's man. He is a warrior and I'm a warrior and I love giving the fans their monies worth. I am willing to give him an option on a trilogy and I'm ready. I couldn't think of a better fight card, Gamboa-Rios and Alvarado-Prescott 2. We can label it 'Fireworks,'" Prescott said to BoxingScene.com.
