WBA/IBO/WBC interim-middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (31-0, 28KOs) is a tough nut to crack. Light heavyweight contender Edwin Rodriguez believes WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (27-0, 14KOs) is the man to do it.
Ward, inactive since 2013, has been sitting on the bench while fighting a legal battle to part ways with his promoter Goossen Promotions. Rodriguez was the last boxer who Ward faced in the ring. The much larger man saw himself dominated over twelve rounds.
"I believe [Ward is the guy to beat him] because Ward has that style that’s very difficult to find answers to, and by the time you do figure it out, it’s too late. I think that would be a real good fight because Golovkin does bring that kind of power where Ward has to be aware the whole fight. But I think Ward has the style to be able to neutralize Golovkin’s power and outbox him in a twelve round decision," Rodriguez told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
