One of the most feared punchers in boxing hopes to claim his first world title at the age of 33 this weekend.
Lucas Matthysse, from Argentina, fights unbeaten Ukrainian Viktor Postol for the WBC super-lightweight title in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
Matthysse is much shorter than Postol but has the punching power to take over one of the titles that Danny Garcia vacated when he moved up to welterweight.
"I am very excited," Matthysse said on Friday. He is 10 cm shorter than Postol but added: We are very well prepared. We are coming like always to give war."
Matthysse has won 37 and lost only three of his professional fights. One of his defeats was when he challenged Garcia in September 2013.
Garcia knocked him down for the first time in his career and ended the Argentinian’s knockout streak by winning the bout on a unanimous decision.
Since then Matthysse has won three fights; two by knockout.
In his most recent bout, in April, he won on a majority decision against Russian Ruslan Provodnikov.
Postol has won each of his 27 fights; 11 by knockout. Known as a technical boxer, he will have a reach advantage of about 18 cm and will be out to repeat the stunning knockout he produced against Selcuk Aydin in May last year.
Postol's manager Vadim Komilov said they would take the fight to Matthysse. "We know he can brawl and we will be ready for that," said Komilov.
"We are going to force him to brawl."
