Tickets will go on sale This Tuesday, March 17 at 12:00 p.m. PDT. Prices are set at $300, $200, $100, $60 and $30, and will be available through Ticketmaster (
Ticketmaster.com, 1-800-745-3000) and at the Forum Box Office.
“Starting at $30, we’ve priced the tickets very reasonably to give as many fight fans as possible the opportunity to see “The GGG Big Drama Show,” said Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions. “As his last fight in Los Angeles was sold out, we encourage fans to purchase their tickets early.”
As an added treat, the first 100 fans purchasing tickets at the Forum Box Office this Tuesday starting at 12:00 p.m. will have an opportunity to have a photograph taken with Golovkin on the press conference stage starting at 1:00 p.m. at the famed venue.
The bout will air live on HBO's
World Championship Boxing
series.
Golovkin (32-0, 29KOs) made his West Coast debut last October, starching Marco Antonio Rubio inside of two rounds at StubHub Center in Carson, California. The bout played to a sold-out crowd—beyond capacity, in fact—announcing the Kazakhstani's drawing power in the New York and Los Angeles markets in the United States.
The rising star is coming off of an 11th round knockout of Top 5 middleweight contender Martin Murray this past February in Monte Carlo, where has performed in each of the past three years.
Monroe Jr. (19-1, 6KOs) fights for the first time on HBO and in a major title fight. The nephew of famed former middleweight contender Willie 'The Worm' Monroe, the 28-year old boxer from upstate New York enters the fight having won the 2014 ESPN2 Boxcino Middleweight tournament and also coming off of a dominant 10-round points win over Bryan Vera in January.
