IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) is only a week away from the biggest fight of his professional career.
On September 10th at the O2 Arena in London, Brook will head up by thirteen pounds to challenge Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) for the IBF, IBO, WBC and WBA middleweight world titles.
At the same time, Brook has a mandatory challenger waiting for him at 147 - unbeaten American Olympian Errol Spence (21-0, 18KOs), who recently knocked out Leonard Bundu to secure the mandatory position.
Brook, a massive underdog in next week's fight, is not even considering the possibility of defeat. He feels very confident of upsetting the odds.
He's so confident of victory that he can't see himself knocking off the top middleweight in the world and capturing four titles at 160 and then returning back to welterweight for Spence. If Brook were to win, it would be a tremendous upset and automatically make him a major player with a high ranking pound-for-pound position.
"We're gonna see what happens, but after I become undisputed champion at middleweight, will I go back down to welterweight to fight Errol Spence? I've got all the belts, I might have to go up again for someone like Tyson Fury or what else can it be.. It's going take a lot after going through this and beating such a fighter. I'm going to need these super exciting fights. Is me and Spence a super exciting fight? I have to give to the fans and see what they see," Brook told IFL TV.
"After this fight and all of attention that it's going to get for me, I'm going to have to be in super-big fights. I can't backwards and fight these names that are being fired. I need to fight the best."
Brook is not entirely ruling out the possibility of a return to 147 - because a win over Golovkin would open up the door for a lucrative fight with Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan, Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia or even a comebacking Floyd Mayweather Jr.
