For the past few weeks, outspoken trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. had been telling me that he was soon to be making the move from Johnny Tocco’s Boxing Club to a new gym in the Vegas area in order to continue training his growing stable of fighters. On Tuesday afternoon, Floyd Sr. was inside of the aforementioned gym just west of the Vegas strip. The facility is at least part-owned by music mogul turned boxing promoter 50 Cent, who is looking to break into the sport with his SMS Promotions.

On Monday afternoon, super middleweight prospect Andre Dirrell (20-1, 14 KO’s) could be found inside of Johnny Tocco’s Boxing Gym in Las Vegas, putting in some work with a pair of ambitious prospects. Dirrell sparred two rounds with super middleweight prospect Lanell Bellows (2-0, 2 KO’s) and four with Apopka, Florida’s Craig Duncan, a talented amateur who recently moved to the city with hopes of soon turning professional. Trainer Rodney Crisler brought both men over from Floyd Mayweather’s personal gym, their usual stomping grounds, after hearing that Dirrell was in search of some sparring.

There are very few fighters who I have been taken aback with as much in terms of their natural talent than super middleweight contender and former world title challenger Andre Dirrell. Training of Johnny Tocco’s Boxing Gym in Las Vegas on Friday afternoon, Dirrell’s skills were in full display as I caught the tail end of his training session with outspoken trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. Adding the elder Mayweather to his team is something Dirrell admits he has been considering for quite some time and the 29-year old also spoke with exuberance about his return to the ring, which appears to be slated for Dec. 15.

A few days ago on Twitter, rapper turned promoter Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. had a war of words. During the tweeting battle between the former best friends, Jackson took an unexpected shot at WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward (26-0, 14KOs). Besides tweeting out "f*** Andre Ward" - he also said Andre Dirrell (20-1, 14KOs) was ready to take Ward's titles. Dirrell is promoted by Jackson's promotional company, SMS Promotions.

While the Floyd Mayweather-50 Cent feud has reached new lows, there was a wrinkle that could have easily gone unnoticed on Friday given the outlandish nature of the Twitter war that 50 and Floyd were engaging in. It was assumed that Mayweather and 50 Cent were going to collaborate on the now defunct TMT Promotions before the company was dissolved following their split. 50 Cent still finds himself aligned with IBF featherweight champion Billy Dib, former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, and super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell, whom Mayweather introduced him to.

It’s safe to say that the honeymoon is over for former friends Floyd Mayweather and 50 Cent. On Friday night, both men could be seen taking to their personal Twitter accounts as they took shots at one another. 50 Cent got the ball rolling by calling Mayweather’s advisor Leonard Ellerbe a “bum” while labeling Floyd a “punk” and insisting that he has been "running" from Manny Pacquiao while adding that his fighter Yuriorks Gamboa would love to fight him.

Super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell (20-1, 14KOs) is training hard in Las Vegas with veteran coach Floyd Mayweather Sr. at Johnny Tocco’s Boxing Gym. Mayweather Sr. helped groom a young Floyd Mayweather Jr. and trained former champion Oscar De La Hoya for several years. Dirrell, in active since December 2012, is possibly going to return to action next month.

One potential option for WBC/WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (26-0, 14KOs) is fellow 2004 US Olympian Andre Dirrell (20-1, 14KOs). Both men entered the Super Six Tournament but due to an injury, Dirrell was forced to pull out prematurely and has been rather inactive the last 2 and half years.
