Earlier, Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum denied reports of a "done deal" for a welterweight mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, which is targeted for May 2nd at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.

Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, told the Las Vegas Review Journal - “I’m very optimistic. We’re waiting to hear from Floyd. But from everyone’s perspective, it needs to get resolved this week. You have to start planning things, and there’s a lot that has to be done.”

The head of Showtime Sports, Stephen Espinoza, took to the social networks to reject the widespread reports a Mayweather-Pacquiao deal - which originated from UK newspaper The Telegraph. Showtime has Mayweather under an exclusive deal.

"Not sure what anyone is signing since no agreement has been finalized yet. An imaginary contract, maybe. Real one not finished yet. Sorry for telling the truth," Espinoza wrote.
