The return of former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez will not come cheap. Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KOs), 40-years-old, is certainly interested in facing Mike Alvarado (34-2, 23 KOs), 33, on May 17th at the historic Forum in Inglewood, California. The likelihood of the match is all coming down to a matter of reaching a financial agreement with both boxers.

But, Marquez has also stated that he won't return to gym for a sum of money that undervalues his worth. Top Rank and Zanfer Promotions work out the financial arrangements. If the monetary figures all fall into line, the fight has a strong possibility of coming off. Marquez likes the idea of headlining against Alvarado as part of a big event at the Forum.

The cost of such a fight would likely bounce the Mikey Garcia-Yuriorkis Gamboa clash, also targeted for May 17 at the same venue, to a different date.
