Toowoomba boxer and current featherweight WBC World Youth Silver Champion “The Great White” Brayd Smith is set to return to the ring on December 11 in Melbourne on the undercard of Les Sherrington Vs Sam Soliman.

Smith, who is coming of an impressive first round KO win over Filipino Gabriel Altarejos, where he won the WBC world youth silver title improving his record to 7 fights 7 wins with 6 by KO, will this time step into the ring against the much more experienced Eric Diaz Siregar from Indonesia.

Not only is this a step up in experience and a step up in maturity out of the youth category against Diaz who has had 39 professional bouts, but this will mark the first time Brayd Smith has fought outside of his home state of Queensland.

“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to fight on the undercard of Les Sherrington VS Sam Soliman,” said Smith.

“I’m also very excited to be able to fight in Melbourne and I can’t wait to be on show in front of a new audience in a new city”.

Eric Diaz on the other hand is no stranger to travelling having fought all over the world throughout his 39 fight career and Brayd’s trainer and manager Brendon Smith believes that Diaz will be looking to use this edge in experience to upset the younger fighter.

“I believe this is a good test for Brayd as he is giving away so much experience here,” said Brendon Smith.

“Brayd will have to be right on his game and be prepared for changes during this fight as Eric Diaz will no doubt look to use all his experience to try and upset Brayd’s rhythm. I am looking forward to this fight as I feel Brayd is really growing with maturity.”

“I would also like to thank David Stanley and Michael Bates from SBS promotions for giving us the opportunity to showcase Brayd on such a prestigious card.”

This fight will take place on the undercard of Les Sherrington VS Sam Soliman on December 11 at the Melbourne Pavilion.
