WBO junior welterweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39KOs) would consider making a run for a welterweight title - if Manny Pacquiao selects an alternative opponent for his upcoming return on November 10th in Las Vegas.

Marquez is one of the three options being considered by Pacquiao. If Pacquiao decides to fight Timothy Bradley or Miguel Cotto, then Marquez will move in another direction. He wants to stay active by having another fight. Marquez has fought twice at welterweight, losing a lopsided decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2009 and then losing a controversial decision to Pacquiao last November.

"There has to be [a fight], to stay active, and possibly [I'll have that] fight in November. Perhaps a defense of my championship title or searching for a fifth. But, if we were just crowned champion at super lightweight, I'd like to make a defense. And to look for a fifth title in a different division....why not?," said Marquez.

However, he said that his main interest is still a fourth fight with Pacquiao.

"Many people saw and know what happened. We won those three fights, but what I want is to have my hand raised, so the people can clearly see who is the winner is and I can be cataloged as the best pound for pound," Marquez said.
