According to Sauerland Event’s matchmaker Hagen Doering, IBF middleweight champion Sebastian Sylvester will have to wait until at least January 2010 to defend his title. Due to a lack of open television dates, Sylvester is unable to defend his title before the end of the year.

“We don’t have any free TV slots on German TV [network] ARD until the end of this year, so Sebastian will have to wait for the beginning of 2010.” Doering told German newspaper Die Welt.

Sylvester will take a voluntary defense in January and has a mandatory due not long after that. The mandatory may come against the tentative eliminator being planned between Roman Karmazin and Dionisio Miranda.
