Eddy Reynoso, trainer of Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs), was very pleased with his fighter's performance on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Canelo defeated Miguel Cotto by unanimous decision and became a two-division champion by capturing the WBC middleweight title.

Reynoso said that they will continue to strive for excellence and that they are very proud of the 25-year-old Canelo's performance.

"We are very happy and we are going to keep working hard.  We will keep showing that Mexican boxing is one of the best styles with some of the best champions and trainers," Reynoso told BoxingScene.com.

When asked about a potential future fight with IBF/WBA/IBO/WBC interim middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs), who is the WBC's mandatory challenger, Reynoso said they are willing to face anyone but only on their terms.

"We are ready to fight anyone at 155 pounds.  We are very comfortable at this weight. If he wants to come to this weight we will fight anybody," said Reynoso.

Prior to the fight the WBC reiterated that if Alvarez emerged victorious, he would have to face Golovkin in his next bout.
