He's often seen at his fights and during media events, popular record artist Justin Beiber is a part of Floyd Mayweather's "Money Team."

Beiber was even invited on stage to pose with Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao during their historic press conference in Los Angeles to announced their May 2nd mega-fight.

Both of them are rich and have super-celebrity status, but they always appear to be an odd pairing to most observers.

During a recent interview, Beiber was asked about his relationship with Mayweather and whether or not critics make him an "easy target' because of his association with Floyd - who many view as a villain.

Beiber stood up for friend, stating that Mayweather's "Money" persona is nothing more than an "image" to sell pay-per-view events.

"With Floyd, he's just an image," Bieber said to Complex Magazine. "I think he may not do the best job at being humble, but that's not his job. I mean, it's good to see people that are just humble and cool and down-to-earth and chill, but he's trying to get pay-per-view numbers. He's saying wild stuff just for attention. When people can just stop being stupid – sorry to say that – but when people can stop reading into it so much and just look at the fact that he's doing this for entertainment…"
