Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) is looking to close strong on September 12th. He still maintains that his final fight will come in the fall, but many believe he will be tempted to return to the ring in 2016 to secure his 50th victory.

After six long years of anticipation, Mayweather finally met Manny Pacquiao in the ring on May 2nd and won a twelve round unanimous decision. Mayweather stands to make a record $200 million from the event, which is more than enough to live very comfortably several times over.

At 38-years-old and holder of five world titles between two weight divisions, he says the time is now to walk away from the ring.

"I don't really know [who's next] at this particular time, but I'm pretty sure that we're going to find a style of guy who is going to push me for that last fight. And when I go out, I want to go out with a bang. I want to bring different R&B stars, R&B legends, rap stars - let them all perform. We want to put on a crazy, crazy show for this last fight and give them want they want to see," Mayweather told DJ. Whoo Kid of Shade 45 Radio.

The frontrunner in the eyes of many to get the September assignment is British star Amir Khan, who faces Chris Algieri on May 29th. There is also Shawn Porter if he defeats Adrien Broner on June 20th. Other possible opponents include Danny Garcia, WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith Thurman, or potentially IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.
