Echo Arena, Liverpool - In a final eliminator for the British heavyweight championship, Olympic gold medal winner Anthony Joshua (10-0, 10KOs) demolished British veteran Michael Sprott (42-23, 17KOs) in the first round. Joshua rocked Sprott with a few punches that sent him stmbling backwards into the ropes. Joshua then jumped on him and unleashed a furry of punches with both hands until the referee jumped in to wave things off.

39-year-old Sprott has seen much better days. He was knocked out in the first round in June by Kali Meehan and also knocked out the first last year by Erkan Teper.  While Joshua is viewed as one of the biggest rising stars in the sport and he might be in line for a world title shot by the end of next year.
