Trainer Robert Garcia has not heard back from Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who was interested in securing Garcia's services. The two of them got together in October, around the time of the Timothy Bradley-Juan Manuel Marquez clash in Las Vegas. Garcia has not heard back from Chavez since a follow-up conversation in November. The former WBC middleweight champion is scheduled to return on March 1 in a rematch with Bryan Vera.

Chavez is known to be difficult when it comes to traveling for training camp. He feels very comfortable training back home in Mexico.

Garcia made it clear to Chavez that their training camps must take place in Oxnard, California. That could be a possible reason for Chavez's silence, although the Mexican star recently stated that he doesn't want to get involved in the drama between Garcia's gym and the Wild Card Gym, run by Chavez's old trainer Freddie Roach.

"I spoke with Julio for many months. The last time I spoke with him personally was in Las Vegas in connection with the fight between Marquez and Bradley. We were together for two or three hours and we agreed that he would come to train in Oxnard, but since Brandon Rios' fight with Pacquiao, when I last spoke to him, December and January have passed and so far I have not heard anything. If he requires my services, he has my number and knows where to find me," Garcia tells Rigo Cervantez.

"He would have come here [to train]. I can not leave my camp and leave my fighters. Any other coach would go wherever Julio wants, but I can not, because here I have to train my brother, Mikey, Brandon Rios, Marcos Maidana, Evgeny Gradovich - a world champion who came from Russia to seek my services here in Oxnard, and I can not leave them to work with Julio. Julio is an exciting fighter who can make a lot of money. If Julio took the opportunity to come here to Oxnard, and stayed here for a couple of weeks, I'm sure he'd love it."
