Enrique Collazo, a middleweight who represented Puerto Rico in the 2012 Olympics and recently made his pro debut, was arrested earlier this week for allegedly assaulting his pregnant wife, according to the Primera Hora newspaper.

The woman was hospitalized. Collazo, according to the report, told officers that she had slapped and pushed him.

Collazo lost in the first round of last year’s Olympics, dropping an 18-10 decision to eventual quarterfinalist Stefan Hartel of Germany. He signed with Gary Shaw Productions and Universal Promotions in December and turned pro last Friday — a bout that surprisingly ended as a four-round majority draw against a 1-5 fighter named Juan Zapata.
