Former four divison world champion Erik Morales is not worried about the threat of a two-year suspension by USADA [United States Anit Doping Agency]. USADA has sent Morales a letter threatening him with a two-year suspension in connection to last October's fight with WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia at Barclays Center in New York City. Morales had three drug tests administered by USADA, and he tested positive for clenbuterol in the first two tests.

"Yes I left positive clenbuterol in two of three tests. Two in Mexico, werepositive, and in New York it came out negative. The levels of [clenbuterol] were minor, almost nothing, and it could have been food. The second [test] was the same. Nothing was done and they told me not to worry me. Three months later they suspend me," Morales said.

"The WBC and WBA,, who sanctioned the fight, told me that clenbuterol is not prohibited in the boxing and let me fight. The New York Commission did as well. [They substance] did not help me at all. I did not use it to improve my body. I did not use it, it came from a source of food. I've never used any substance in a fight. I have nothing to worry about."

"I don't have to defend myself. [USADA] can do whatever they want. I don't care. At the end of the fight I was tested by the WBC and the Commission of New York, and I came out negative. If [USADA] sanctions [my fights] or not, I don't care. I will not fight anymore in United States, and if I decided to do it once more [USADA] can not deny me a license."

"I will continue with my plans. It has no interference with the committees of Mexico. They will hardly stop my desire to step into the ring in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. We are in talks for two fights.....maybe only one. It is likely that my last will be in Tijuana."
