The team behind Nobuhiro Ishida is very confident of defeating WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (25-0, 22KOs) on March 30th in Monte Carlo. Ishida (24-8-2, 9KOs) has lost his last two, both by decision, to Paul Williams and Dmitry Pirog, who at one time was scheduled to face Golovkin before withdrawing with an injury.

Ishida rose to fame with a shocking first round knockout of heavily favored James Kirkland in 2011. Ishida has never been stopped. Most of his defeats were close decision losses, including a highly debatable loss to Rigoberto Alvarez in 2010.

Ishida's trainer, Rudy Hernandez, has a good feeling about the fight and his boxer knows the shot at Golovkin will probably be his last title opportunity if he loses .

"Nobuhiro Ishida will be challenging GGG for the WBA middleweight title in Monte Carlo on March 30. We aim to win and fight every round. When he fought Williams and Pirog, he fought competitive every round and didn't embarrass himself or us. When opportunities come knocking, you take them. We have everything to win, and not much to lose. He will be ready and knows this will be his last chance at a title."
