According to Ricardo Rizzo, advisor to Dream Team Promotions, he is trying to put together a WBA interim title clash between heavyweights Luis "El Mercedes" Ortiz (19-0, 16KOs) and Ruslan Chagaev (30-2-1, 19KOs), the former champion. Ortiz is ranked at number two in the top ten, while Chagaev is ranked at third. Alexander Povetkin is the WBA's "regular' champion at the weight, while Wladimir Klitschko is the "super champion."

"We have a letter from the WBA for a mandatory eliminator for the interim world heavyweight title between Ortiz and Chagaev. If we win, we would be in position to become a regular champion very soon, because Klitschko has a mandatory fight with Povetkin. If they make that fight, Povetkin would drop the regular crown," Rizzo said.

"Felix Sturm is Chagaev's promoter. I answered the first letter and we entered negotiations. I answered the second letter and accepting the interim title fight. Now we are in a stage of negotiations for the fight. I told Sturm that we can only do that fight in Germany, because Chagaev will test positive for hepatitis outside of Germany. Because of that issue he dropped a fight with David Haye in England, so he can hardly fight in America or any other country other than Germany, where they allow him to fight without any problems. If we get a good deal, we'll fight in Germany. The ball is in Sturm's court, we are waiting for their answer."
