WBA/IBF junior welterweight champion Amir Khan has seen his name linked with many different opponents for his December 10th return date. Khan is the rare recipient of three appearances on HBO in one calendar year.

The winner of the since cancelled Marcos Maidana-Robert Guerrero showdown, and

the winner of the September 17th matchup between Erik Morales and Lucas Matthysse,

along with Lamont Peterson - have all been mentioned as potential opponents.

During the recent edition of BoxingScene.com's official audio show, The Boxing Lab, Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Eric Gomez revealed that they are currently in negotiations with Lamont Peterson's team.

Gomez also said that Erik Morales is an attractive option for Khan.

"We are in negotiations with Lamont Peterson, who is his IBF mandatory. Morales is also an option. Khan is a top 10 pound for pound fighter and is in a position to pick

and choose," Gomez said.

Khan's last two fights in the U.S. have taken place in Las Vegas. When asked where the likely landing spot is for the December 10th fight, Gomez said, "His fight will most likely be in Las Vegas but if that doesn't work out we will look at Los Angeles or the East Coast."
