Former IBF junior welterweight champion, Paulie Malignaggi (27-4, 5 KOs), of New York, has a Dec. 18 bout opposite Michael Lozada (39-6-1, 29 KOs). Promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, Malignaggi-Lozada will be on the undercard of the Showtime televised main event featuring WBC light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal of Canada against 45-year-old ex-titlist, Bernard Hopkins, at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec, Canada.

Malignaggi would like to see an agreement reached for a mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. According to Malignaggi, an event like Mayweather-Pacquiao would benefit the entire sport.

"I train at the Wild Card. I've seen how hard Manny Pacquiao trains. I know Floyd Mayweather trains hard. It's a great fight that would help everybody and the fans would get what they want. It would even benefit someone like me because the more attention that you generate to boxing the more it benefits everyone involved in the sport. If a fight like that comes off, it helps a guy like me. That's all I can say about the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight. It's the fight for boxing," Malignaggi said to FanHouse.
