According to a report by Jeff Powell from Daily Mail, Ricky Hatton has been offered a fight with Oscar De La Hoya, president of Golden Boy Promotions. Hatton has not fought for 18 months and De La Hoya has been out of the ring for nearly two years. Both fighters have not fought since suffering knockout defeats to Manny Pacquiao.

The De La Hoya proposal was given to Hatton during the fight week for David Haye-Audley Harrison. Robert Diaz, a Golden Boy Promotions executive and matchmaker, presented Hatton with the offer during a visit to Manchester, and confirmed it to the paper.

Based on Diaz's language, it appears the fight might be a one-shot deal for a De La Hoya return to create a huge Golden Boy money-making event in the UK. Hatton has said several times that he would never fight again and he recently lost his license to box in the UK over the cocaine scandal.

"This would be a huge event which we believe would fill a football ground here in England," Diaz said.
