The winner of the junior welterweight unification, between Devon Alexander and Timothy Bradley, will be in line for the biggest fights in the sport, says Alexander's manager and trainer Kevin Cunningham. WBC/IBF champion Alexander (21-0, 13KOs) has reached a deal with his promoter Don King. The only outstanding factor before the fight can be finalized is Bradley (26-0, 11KOs), the WBO champion, reaching an agreement on the terms with his promoter Gary Shaw. The fight is going to take place on January 29.

"The offer [from Don King] could have been better, but this fight is not just about the money," said Cunningham. "Devon wants the opportunity to prove that he is the best at 140, and the only way that that happens is to fight Tim Bradley."

Cunningham views Bradley as the final step before his fighter is ready for the biggest names in the business. If Alexander walks away with three titles - a fight with Floyd Mayweather, Shane Mosley or Manny Pacquiao, could be next.

"Devon and Tim are both undefeated world champions, while the other so-called top guys at 140 have been knocked out or beaten already," said Cunningham. "The winner of this fight between Devon and Tim is in the mix with Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley."
