By Dmitry Mikhalchuk (at the scales) and Alexey Sukachev

Everything is set for tonight’s battle between WBO #3 middleweight Maksym Bursak (20-0-1, 8 KOs) and well-known upset specialist Bryan Vera (17-4, 11 KOs) for Bursak’s WBO I/C title at Meteor palace of sports in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. The show is being set by K2 Ukraine Promotions, ruled by Klitschko brothers and managed by Olexander Krasyuk.

Yesterday both fighters took part in an open workout to conduct a bit of shadowboxing, shaking mitts and some fan-pleasing sparring sessions with lucky choices from crowd. Also, as always, a weigh-in was performed to determine fighters’ weights. Bursak tipped the scales at 159.6, a little under this division’s limit, while Vera missed it with merely 0.15 of the pound. He was ready to strip off his pants but WBO supervisor Igor Mazurov let him go without pulling his underclothes according to instant mutual agreement of both teams. Video of the weigh-in can be seen here.
