Former welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir has promised to knock unbeaten Saul "Canelo" Alvarez out on September 18 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Baldomir faces Alvarez for his WBC silver 154-pound title. Baldomir-Alvarez is a co-feature bout to Shane Mosley vs. Sergio Mora.

"I am a healthy person and that has helped me to stay in excellent condition. For me, Canelo is my return ticket to the big leagues of boxing. I can beat him and go on to meet the winner of Mosley vs. Mora. Alvarez is only a stepping stone. I don't think he fought anybody good. I've beaten so many, young and undefeated guys, that I have no fear. I am eager to win," said Baldomir to Sal Rodriguez.

Baldomir questions the chin of Alvarez. Watching the last few fights of Alvarez has made Baldomir very confident of achieving the knockout victory.

"If a lightweight like Cotto's brother was about to knock him out in the first round, I do not see why a welterweight and super welterweight like myself couldn't knock him out. Because unlike Cotto... I will knock him out!," said Baldomir.
