BoxingScene.com was advised by Susan Stanford, public relations specialist for the Texas Athletic Commission, that she received the license request and a check from Antonio Margarito's camp for the amount of the licensing fee, and they expect to make a decision either Thursday or Friday whether or not to grant the license or deny it.

Margarito is scheduled to fight Manny Pacquiao on November 13 in Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Last February, Margarito's license was revoked by the California State Athletic Commission for a period of one year. The CSAC found Margarito liable for the use of illegal hands wraps. Prior to his fight with Shane Mosley on January 24, 2009, two hard inserts containing a plaster-like substance were discovered in Margarito's wraps.

Margarito's ability to apply for a new license began on February 11. He unsuccessfully applied for a license in Nevada. The athletic commission in Nevada ruled that he must re-apply in California and have his case re-tried there before attempting to fight in Las Vegas. Last Wednesday the California commission denied Margarito's application for a license.

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes Margarito and Pacquiao, told BoxingScene.com that he expects the press tour for their fight to begin next Tuesday in Los Angeles, and then it will head to New York on Wednesday, and then Friday the tour would head to Dallas.

"We're looking forward to and hoping that Texas will issue a license. We fully expect that they willl. And we will then announce the press tour," Arum told BoxingScene.com.
