It's official, Argentine knockout artist Marcos "El Chino" Maidana will defend his interim world super lightweight title against American challenger DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley on Saturday August 28 at Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The official press conference took place late at night on Tuesday at headquarters of the Association of Dairy Industry Workers of Argentina. Maidana and the promoters of the event, Osvaldo Rivero and Stephen Livera, were present.

“I had thought about fighting at Luna Park for some time. But I am very happy to defend my title on that stage and that I've been given this opportunity," said Maidana to BoxingScene.com/Notifight.com

Maidana told BoxingScene/Notifight that he feels anger and personal resentment against WBO junior welterweight champon Timothy Bradley.

"After this fight, which I think I'm going to win, Bradley will come next in November. I want that fight. When they [former managers] made that fight [against Bradley], I was not aware of it and it didn't happen. Bradley said that I was afraid, that I was a "chicken." So now I want to show him that I'm not afraid. Now it's personal," Maidana said."

"I want to clarify that I am in perfect condition. I've only been away for two months. I never injured my back. I had some problems before, but for the alleged fight with Timothy Bradley I never had a problem. I will train in Cordoba and I will be in perfect condition for August 28."

While a future fight with Bradley is not a dona deal, Maidana saw the recent fight between Bradley and the Argentinean Luis Carlos Abregú and said:

"If he fights me in the same manner that he fought against Abregú, I will a lot of chances to beat him. Abregú perhaps was not aggressive enough, but I'm not going to miss. I'm going to win. I saw that there are ways to beat him and that's good," Maidana said. "I'm going to win by knockout (DeMarcus Corley), then go to Bradley and then unify with Amir Khan."

Tickets for Maidana-Corley will go on sale Monday July 26 with prices ranging from 60 pesos (overall) to 260 (Ringside). They can be purchased at the box office of Luna Park.
