Guadalajara, Jalisco - With a firm goal in mind to regain his world title, Mexican former champion Ulises "Archie" Solis prepared well for this Saturday in Reno, Nevada when he faces compatriot Eric Ortiz.

"Archie" (30-2-2, 21 kos), 29-year-old, has decided to confront Ortiz (30-9-3, 21 kos) before a flyweight title contest in early October.

"I know I'm risking a lot. I have a lot to lose and nothing to gain from Ortiz, but that kind of risk has always exists in boxing and I will not be inactive for such a long time and that's why we accepted the bout on Saturday in Reno," said Solis, who is represented by Zanfer.

The pride of Guadalajara stars in the role with Ortiz at the Grand Sierra Hotel Casino in Reno, Nevada in a card promoted by Top Rank in their series "Top Rank Live" and will be broadcast by Fox Sports in the United States and in Latin America and Mexico by TV Azteca.

Solis has prepared for six weeks in the gym of his property located in the Colonia Tlalpita of his native Guadalajara under the orders of Lorenzo Lopez.

"We will as always be in excellent physical condition to prevent surprises and we know how dangerous and experienced Ortiz is, and we will come out victorious," said the former champ, who in his last fight in March defeated the Filipino Bert Batawang in six rounds in a world title eliminator held in Ensenada.
