Former unified cruiserweight champion Jean Marc Mormeck (35-4, 22KOs) is gunning for a fight with Tomasz Adamek, another fighter who was once the king of the cruiserweight division. Both of them are now making their play in the heavyweight division. Mormeck returned last December after a two year layoff to make his debut at heavyweight. He's beaten veterans Vinny Maddalone and Fres Oquendo since coming back.

Mormeck is now targeting a fight with Adamek. The Polish fighter is scheduled for a showdown with Michael Grant in August. Mormeck wants to fight Adamek before the end of the year and he doesn't have a problem doing the fight in the United States.

"Currently my main objective is to face the best fighters, like Adamek. If I beat him, I'll beat able to fight for a world title. I want to have the possibility of facing Adamek. He's a European like me, so I think it would be a beautiful bout. We had common opponents at cruiserweight. It would be nice if we met in the ring," Mormeck said to BoxingScene.com/Bokser.org

Mormeck has directed his lawyer to speak to Adamek's attorney. If he beats Adamek, he wants to have a rematch with David Haye, the WBA's heavyweight champion.

"My lawyer is trying to talk to the lawyer for Adamek and I'm waiting for a positive response. I look forward to the fight this year," Mormeck said. "I won most of my titles in the United States. I am ready to go back there.

"My first goal is Adamek, the second is Haye. The best heavyweights in the world are the Klitschkos and David Haye. Just behind them is Tomasz Adamek. When I face Adamek, we'll found out who'll be a champion in the future."
