A recent interview in Golzka confirms an earlier report on BoxingScene.com, where Haye's co-promoter, Chris Meyer of Sauerland Event, was quoted as saying the British boxer prefers a fight with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, instead of facing WBO/IBF/IBO champion Wladimir Klitschko.

This time it was Haye's manager and trainer Adam Booth who revealed his fighter's desire to fight Vitali Klitschko. Booth said the best route is to wait for the outcome of Vitali's upcoming fight with Albert Sosnowki of Poland. The IBF gave Wladimir a deadline of May 17 to reach a unification deal with Haye. Since that doesn't appear likely to happen, Wladimir has to defend his title against mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin.

"David would like a fight with Vitali. He is better than his brother, and more experienced and he's stronger. Besides, Wladimir has to defend his title against Povetkin. I think, after Vitali's fight with Albert Sosnowski, all of us will try to make a deal for a big fight between David and Vitali Klitschko," Booth said.
