WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan is feeling the heat from his critics. He makes his American boxing debut on May 15 against former champion Paulie Malignaggi. The fight takes place at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Khan's critics have attacked him for fighting Malignaggi instead of his mandatory challenger, Marcos Maidana. The only way Khan believes he can get the respect of the critics is to challenge the winner of Maidana's upcoming fight with WBO champion Timothy Bradley. The Bradley-Maidana bout takes place on July 17 in California.

"The only way to prove the critics wrong is to fight the winner of Maidana and Timothy Bradley, that would be a big fight for me and that would shut a lot of critics up," said Khan.
