The trainer of former WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev, says his fighter has begun training in Sochi for a possible fight with Olympic Gold medal winner Odlanier Solis. Alexander Zimin told Ruslife.eu that Valuev already looks to be in good shape. No date or location has been agreed upon for a fight with Valuev and Solis, but both of the fighters have directed their promoters to make the fight. Valuev's co-promoter Don King was quoted a few days ago as saying the negotiations are going well.

The WBC ordered both heavyweights to fight for a mandatory shot at their champion Vitali Klitschko. Until recently, Valuev had not been in Sochi for nearly two decades. Valuev plans to open a boxing school in Sochi, the capital where the 2014 Winter Olympic Games will take place.
