Celestino Caballero (34-2, 23KOs) has given up on trying to lure Juan Manuel Lopez to the table. Caballero, and his team, have turned their attention to a possible July fight, on HBO, with WBA "regular" featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (18-0, 15KOs). Gamboa's promoters, Top Rank and Arena Box, are very interested in making that match, but the fight will ultimately come down to the money HBO puts on the table. If HBO's numbers don't make sense for fight, Gamboa's promoters will be forced to look for another opponent.

Caballero's adviser, Sampson Lewkowicz, is feeling good about his fighter's chances to land Gamboa in July.

"Gamboa is not Juanma. Gamboa is a fighter with balls and I believe he will take this fight. There are no more excuses out there to duck Caballero. He wants to fight all of the big names at featherweight. He wants Gamboa. He wants Juanma. He wants the Vazquez-Marquez winner. They can't avoid Caballero any longer," Lewkowicz told BoxingScene.com.
