Trainer Emanuel Steward thinks a rematch between Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao is very possible, if Cotto manages to beat WBA junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman on June 5 at Yankee Stadium in New York. Pacquiao knocked Cotto out in the twelfth round to win the WBO welterweight title last November. He thinks Pacquiao can be lured to 154-pounds in chase of another divisional title.

"Of course it's possible. I've said it before, a fight between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather will never happen. If Miguel wants a rematch, Top Rank will do everything possible to make it happen. Miguel is one of the best technical fighters I have ever seen," Steward told Vocero.

"He is one of the best athletes to come out of Puerto Rico, which is home to fighters like Felix "Tito" Trinidad and Wilfredo Gomez, two fighters that I admire very much. But Miguel is faster and is more technical than they were. He feels his loss to Pacquiao was humiliating and he's willing to face him again."

Cotto did well against Pacquiao in the early rounds but he faded fast as the contest wore on. Steward says the lack of speed and balance were issues in the loss.

"The fight with Pacquiao started very well, but he had balance problems and we've got to work hard on that. We want him to have more balance and to be much faster. You will see a new Cotto," Steward said.

Foreman will not be an easy fight for Cotto.

"Miguel understands the importance of this fight. He knows this is going to be special and he's taking a very big step. In addition, he is also facing a lot of emotions and that's the part that will really motivate him to win this important fight and many more in the remainder of his career, which in my opinion is a lot." Steward said.
