At the Unidad Deportiva Inalámbrica in Merida, Yucatán, Mexico, Jorge Solis captured the WBA's interim-super featherweight title with a left hook to the ribs that stopped Likar Ramos of Colombia in the seventh round. Solis had also scored a knockdown in the sixth round.

Solis lifts his record to 38-2-2 and 28KOs. He was coming off a decision loss to Cristobal Cruz. Ramos falls to 21-3 with 15KOs. It was the first loss for Ramos since 2006 and the first time he had been stopped. He joins his brother Ulysses "Archie" Solís as another pair of Mexican brothers to have won world titles.
