Prestige Boxing Promoter Dr Fausto Daniel Garcia is confirming that WBC Light Flyweight Champion Edgar Sosa will defend his title for an eleventh time.

Edgar's defending his title on Tuesday as an appetizer to Mexican Independence Day against Omar Soto from Puerto Rico. Both made the weight in front of a large and friendly crowd in Puebla's main Plaza, who were lapping up thrown caps, shirts and cheering the Corona Beer beauties. Edgar was 107.8, while Omar was five hundred grams lighter. This will be Edgar's tenth defense.

A confident Dr. Fausto says Edgar's next defence will be on November 21st, and then he'll move up to flyweight.

Rising star Saul Canelo Alvarez weighed in at 146.8, and defends his WBC Youth Welterweight crown against challenger Carlos Herrera from Argentina who was a shade lighter at 145. Saul who's won 24 of his 33 fights via knockout is looking to extend his open heart and closed fist policy. This involves being a crowd pleaser for his legion of fans thanks to his explosive dispatch of opponents.

Tall and hard punching Daniel Estrada who defends his WBC Youth Lightweight title, weighed 133.8, while his challenger Carlos Ramon Mairena from Nicaragua was 132.4.

Tremendous interest and anticipation abounds about the debut of Carlos Zarate Jr. Carlos Jr who's already shown he's a chip off the old block...and then some, impressing in the amateurs. He's now making his pro debut against another pro novice Miguel Angel Tejeda, who's a popular local lad from Puebla. Carlos Jr's support was in the impressive form of Dad standing by his left shoulder. Carlos Jr weighed an even 132.2 kg, while Miguel Angel was 126.1. They'll go at it for four rounds.
