The proposed bout between WBC champion Vitali Klitschko and challenger David Haye is said to be very close, according to Haye and his manager/trainer Adam Booth. The fight will land on HBO but Haye's team need to make a deal with a UK outlet to televise the fight. Haye had a deal with Setanta Sports before the network went under.

"This fight is closer now than it has ever been," admitted Haye to writer Steve Bunce. "I'm confident all the people involved will agree terms in the near future. It would be great if the fight was live on the BBC at 10 on a Saturday night. When the Klitschkos fight in Germany over 12 million people watch and I would get the same for such a massive fight."

As much as Haye wants the fight to land on BBC, Booth says the network is not showing interest in the fight.

"I'm not just a promoter, I'm also a BBC TV licence holder," said Booth. "It seems the BBC can find money for private flights and iPods but not a great British sporting event like this."
