It seems promoter Frank Warren is working on a deal to bring back WBO super featherweight champion Roman Martinez (22-0, 13KOs) to the UK. Warren is in talks for Martinez to face Kevin Mitchell (27-0, 20KOs) in July at London's O2 Arena. Mitchell would have to win a scheduled fight on May 22 to make the fight happen. Martinez made his debut in the UK last month, knocking out Nicky Cook to win the title.

Both are undefeated and Mitchell is viewed by some as a rising star in Warren's stable. Martinez is making a name for himself in Puerto Rico. Mitchell suffered a few injuries along the way but appears very confident that his style is the right one to beat Martinez.

"I'm a stepping stone away from my own big fight, we hope to announce it in the next week," Mitchell told BBC Sport. "That fight is not far off happening, it's the sort of fight I want and the sort of fight I know I can win, I will beat that Roman Martinez when it happens."

"Frank is sorting it all out now and we are hoping to make the fight happen in July. I want it to be at the O2 Arena. I know I could fill it. It wasn't nice to see Nicky get hurt and we were all expecting him to coast the fight and win it easily. I think the first three rounds he was coasting and he got so confident that he didn't expect the punch to come. But that's boxing."
